At first a small cottage was put up for the sisters and the staff of the hospital. In the meantime a building was constructed for the T.B Patients and was named St. Theresa's Hospital.

To begin with, this mission was created exclusively for female TB Patients.Since patients kept coming from all over the state and even from other states, there was a demand to treat male T.B patients also. Facilities were started to treat men initially as Out-Patients only, and later small huts were built to treat them as In- Patients.

The year 1955 saw the opening of an Out-Patients Dispensary to meet the needs of the local people, and a few beds for maternity cases were built in a separate block. With this, full-fledged Maternity clinic began.

Over a period of time, X-Ray facilities and clinical laboratory were started and general cases were also treated with the help of specialist consultants who were on call. This Hospital is popularly called as GuddeAspathre(Kannada) (Hillock Hospital).Patients from various parts of the state and even from other states were greatly benefited.

In the year 1990 an operation theater with all basic facilities was started where Obstetric and Gynecological and general surgeries were being done. With the increasing inflow of patients and the health care needs, there was a need to enhance and upgrade the facilities available. So the new block was started in 2001. The block was planned to accommodate out-patient clinics, O.T Complex, Radiology, Laboratory and special wards. Special Emphasis were laid on good lighting and ventilation to enhance patients comfort.

In the year 2014 it focused on medical education also to improve the quality of medical service by introducing various educational programme.
